About the data

What is here

The Government Printing Works publishes Legal Notices A every Friday. Three of its insolvency forms are read here: Form J28 (estates and companies sequestrated or wound up provisionally), Form J29 (first meetings of creditors, contributories, members or debenture-holders, which is also where the final order is recorded) and Form J29CC (close corporations' first meetings, which name the liquidator).

This site holds 38651 notices from 270 issues, from August 2021 to 2026-09-11. Every notice links to the issue it appeared in by gazette number and date.

How it is read

Extraction is automated. Each numbered field of a notice is parsed into a value, and the text it was parsed from is shown beside it, so a reader can check any value against the page. Where a field could not be classified it is shown as unknown rather than guessed. The rules are versioned and every run is measured; the measured coverage is published in the project's specification.

What is not here

Deceased-estate notices, sales in execution, and the other insolvency forms (trustee appointments, accounts lying for inspection, dividends, rehabilitations) are not yet read. Issues before August 2021 are not included. Scanned issues without a text layer cannot be read.

Identity numbers

The gazette prints identity numbers in full. This site shows the month and day of birth and the last three digits, and hides the year and the sequence, everywhere. A search by full number still matches.
